Roscoe’s House of Chicken’n Waffles

Date Visited: 15th of April, 2011

Name: Roscoe’s House of Chicken’n Waffles

Address: 5006 West Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90019

Front of the restaurant.

Crazy neon pink lights

1/4 Chicken Prepared Southern Style, 2 Waffles with Roscoe’s Maple Syrup ($10.20)

1/4 Chicken Smothered with Gravy and Onions, 2 Waffles with Roscoe’s Maple Syrup ($10.40)

Side Order of Mac & Cheese ($4.50)

Roscoe’s live up to their reputation every time. Ridiculously delicious fried chicken with crispy, well-seasoned skin and juicy, flavorful meat underneath. I know it’s all about mixing the waffles with the chicken but I think I can eat 12 plates of just the fried chicken…alone.  Also, the homemade gravy makes an excellent topping for the chicken. I got a little greedy and ordered the mac & cheese, which tasted like yesterday’s leftovers. Quite disappointing.

I think there needs to be a Roscoe’s in Taipei!!!! Taiwanese people love fried chicken!!!!!

Name: Frysmith

Address: Depends…it’s a food truck! It moves! Visit their website: http://www.eatfrysmith.com/

Was in LA just in time for the monthly Art Walk…

An overall view of the food truck gathering.

Not a good photo but my post would seem plain without it =P

Rajas Fries – Charbroiled Angus Steak in a Shawarma Marinade with Roasted Poblano Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Jack Cheese, Rajas Sauce, Lime and Cilantro ($7.00)

French fries heaven! Everything on their menu looked delicious! The Rajas Fries was everything I expected. The steak pieces are very tender and well seasoned. I felt  the shawarma marinade moistened the fries, thereby eliminating the crunchy texture I enjoy in French fries.

I definitely want to come back and try the other selections.
