Singapore Zam Zam Two

Date Visited:
7th of January, 2012

Name:
Singapore Zam Zam Two
(the first one is located RIGHT next door)

Address:
697 North Bridge Road
Singapore 198675

Located across the street from Sultan Mosque. This is the address for the first Zam Zam, but like I mentioned before, they are right next to each other.

It was too crowded at Singapore Zam Zam ONE so we were moved to TWO.

Murtabak with Mutton

If you couldn’t tell by the amount of photos I took of the murtabak, it happened to be my favorite dish of the night. This bad boy was overloaded with mutton – mutton on top, mutton stuffed in the middle. Pan-fried until the outside wrap and mutton sprinkles are slightly crispy. Very enjoyable.

It was my first time having murtabak =)

Chicken Briyani

Plain Chapati Set

This chapati was like a cross between a French crêpe and an Ethiopian injera. They served it with some spicy curry, chickpea curry, coconut curry (?). So simple, so delicious.

Mee Goreng

It was hot, hot, hot.

Garlic Naan

Chocolate Paper Tissue Prata

Despite being seams-coming-apart-full, I somehow found room to eat this tissue prata. And it’s addicting. It’s quite crispy so you break it into pieces like a big potato chip. It actually doesn’t feel too filling, but then again, it could be I was already full to the point where I couldn’t FEEL any fuller (if that makes sense).

I didn’t keep a good account of the prices but the total came to 20SGD. Cheap, delicious and FILLING.

But be warned! If you are female, the server’s eyes might have a magnetic pull toward your bust area.

Tekka Centre

WEEEEEEEEEEEE, weekend in Singapore!! Great way to kick off 2012. I had a fantastique time! Ate so, so much…

Date Visited: 6th of January, 2012

Name:
Tekka Centre
竹脚中心

Address:
665 Buffalo Road Singapore 210665  (MRT Little India)

First stop…Little India.

A friend highly recommended this place

It’s basically a food court but all the stalls serve the same thing.

You got your food stall…

…and you got your drink stall. A mango lassi is 2.50SGD.

Roti John (3.50SGD)

Doesn’t this resemble a breakfast sandwich? Well, it’s a popular breakfast item in Malaysia and Singapore. It was greasy but good! I’m a big fan of breakfast foods!

Nasi Goreng Ayam (4.00SGD)

Oh, so good! It’s like Chinese fried rice but with more spices. If you think it looks spicy, well, it was indeed spicy. But it’s so good you can’t stop eating it! All that spice made this dish quite heavy and made me a water fiend. According to Wikipedia, nasi goreng is considered the national dish of Indonesia!

It probably looks weak that only 2 main dishes were ordered. Lack of sleep really ruins your appetite.

Chocolate & Banana Roti Prata (2.50SGD)

Great way to end the meal. It wasn’t very sweet so I suspect no additional sugar was added.

Roti prata is a fried flour-based pancake that is cooked over a flat grill. (Wiki)

Throughout the rest of my trip, I kept talking about coming back!

Can you see the difference between the roti prata here and the roti canai I had in Kota Kinabalu?

More Singapore eating on the way!

ROTI (Kota Kinabalu Edition)

Date: November 12-14, 2011

One of my favorite foods from Kuala Lumpur is roti! So I was super excited to have some in East Malaysia. Unfortunately, there are not as many choices like in KL. No sweet roti (banana roti)!

Since I didn’t take down any addresses…I’m just posting some photos =)

Roti Cobra (5RM)

Roti Bom (2.50RM)

Roti Bom Telur (3RM)

Some other deliciousness…

Soto Ayam (2.20RM)

Mee Goreng Ayam (6RM)

Milo Shake (3RM)

That happens to me my own Milo that I carry around in my purse…just cause I can.

Kopi Susu (2RM)

Coffee with sweetened condensed milk

Had a great time in KK, already want to go back! But for food, KL has more choices. All the menus in KK looked the same!!
